The story of the movie is as follows: Chris Taylor (portrayed by Charlie Sheen) voulenteers for the army in 1967..He goes to fight in Vietnam, which is where all the story take place. Upon arriving in vietnam chris sees the rage of man, and mans worst emotions. I won't reaveal big plot details, but the movie itself is good, if you haven't seen it, it is worth a rent. Each of the missions is loosely based on a scene in the movie, Level one is the scene where the platoon goes to the village. Level 2 is the scene where Elias goes down into the tunnels. Level 3 is the foxhole before the big climax fight at the end. Level 4 is a the climax fight, in which you must kill Sgt. Barnes before the Napalm is dropped. *********************************************************************** SECTION TWO 2-1 LEVEL ONE *********************************************************************** Ok, you Are in the Jungle and you need to find some Explosives to Blow up the bride, find a torch and map to the sewer system... sounds easy eh? Well the jungle is also a maze. Not so easy eh? Well that my troops, is where I come in. I have the solution to find the explosives, find the bridge, blow it up, find the items and get to the sewers. Ok we will start at the starting point, from the starting point Go right, take the first down you see. Go right and take the third down Go right and take the first up Go left and take the first up Go right and take the first down Go right and take the first down Go right and take the first up Go right and take the first down Go to the right of the screen, there will be a green backpack on the ground, these are the explosives needed to take out that bridge. From the explosives Go left and take the first up Go left and take the first down Go left and take the first up Go left and take the first up Go left and take the first down Go right and take the first down GO left and take the second up Go left and take the first up Go left and take the first up Go right and take the first up Go right and take the second down Go firgh and take the first up Go right and take the first down GO right and take the fourth down Go right and take the first down GO right and take the second up Go righ and take the first down GO right and take the first up Go left and take the first up GO left and take the first up Go to the right of the screen Ok now walk over the bridge and it tells you to get moving, waste no time and walk to the right. Now for the Village, check out the fourth house, check out the table and you will find a map. Go to the last house and check out the jar, you will find a torch. Now to go down to those nasty feces infested sewers. ready?... Ok go to the fifth house and you will find a trap door all the way to the left...enter it and you are now in.... ****************************************************************** SECTION 2 2-2 LEVEL TWO ****************************************************************** Ok you made it to the sewers....good luck in here ....you must find two boxes of flares and a compass and an exit .....also your ammo is very limited............ok here is what you need to do.. This is a VERY rough sketch of the map....i have only included the rooms, no pathways 1 8 3 7 2 5 6 9 4 1. Find both boxes of flares. One box is located in Room 1 another box is located in room 4 2. Find a Compass. It is located in room 7 3. Find the exit. It is located in room 9 Now I have located the items for you Taylor, now its your job to survive in the sewers and get the items. ******************************************************************* SECTION 2 2-3 LEVEL THREE ******************************************************************* The Foxhole is definately the easiest level in this game, it should take you less than 5 minutes to complete. Your screen is set up like this ___________________________________________________________________________ ! ! ! ! ! ! ! _ ! ! (_) ! ! ! ! __ ! ! / / ! ! This is your flare gun>>>>>>>>>>>>> / / ! ! / / ! ! ~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ! ! /Ammo / ! ! !!!!!!!!!! ! __________________________________________________________________________! Aim your sight over your flare gun to light up the night sky and see your Vietnamese enemies, Aim well and shoot them, all you have to do is kill a set number of enemies. Easy. After you beat this level you must press fire to enter the next level...... ******************************************************************* SECTION 2 2-4 LEVEL FOUR ******************************************************************* The Jungle Confrontation you must fight your way to Barnes's bunker and kill him, and make it there before the timer counts all the way down, and your own comrades use the napalm....this level is another maze....It sounds worse than it really is though... follow these directions to get to the bunker.... From your starting point, go left. On the next screen, take a right....after this it is pretty easy, just keep going the only way the path will let you go until you come to another branch, on this branch, take a right, then continue to go whichever way the game lets you go. You will eventually come to a bunker, with Sgt. Bob Barnes in it, and he is packing some serious heat: A machine gun that fires in 3 round bursts and hand grenades.... you have to get close enough to throw a grenade directly at him, it takes FIVE direct hits on Barnes to kill him. After you kill him the ending will roll. ********************************************************************* SECTION 3 3-1 ENDING ********************************************************************* THE ENDING (Warning, don't read unless you want to know the ending) After you defeat Barnes, Chris (your character) Is put on a helicopter, to leave Vietnam, there is a man there, holding a walking stick and an M-16, this man's name is Rhah, he thumps the M-16 on his chest a few times and then Chris waves to him, you see the helicopter ascend from the ground and take off. he Credits roll until the words "The End" come up. Congrats, you have just beaten Platoon. Welcome to the club. Now go get a Coke or something. :) ********************************************************************* SECTION 4 4-1 CREDITS ********************************************************************* Ok here is where I pay credit where it is due, I would like to thank the internet (for transmitting this data), Oliver Stone (for making the movie), The cast of the movie Platoon (for inspiring me to write this guide), Sunsoft (for making this game), my brother (for being such an avid NES fan), NES4HermitCrabs (for telling me how to beat the last level), You, for reading this FAQ and last but not least Gamefaqs.com (for posting this and being the best game site EVER!) :) ********************************************************************** SECTION 4 4-1 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ********************************************************************** 1. Why do things blow up at my feet in level one? A: Those are enemy trip wires, jump over them. 2. I cannot beat level 3 (ok its not a question but you know what i mean) A: Try not to use too many flares, the enemy can see them too! Heres a tip: look VERY closely in the dark and you can see your enemies. 3. I shot a soldier but the "Morale" meter goes down in level one A: That's not a soldier, it is a villager...they wear blue clothing, not green. ************************************************************************ SECTION 5 5-1 CONTACTING ME ************************************************************************ You can E-mail me with suggestions, corrections, love or hate mail at the adress "Kyle_Reese27()hotmail.com" If you really want to add me to MSN messanger..uh feel free.
