******************************************************************************* RBI Baseball 3 ******************************************************************************* This FAQ was made for the NES FAQ Completion Project. You could contribute to this yourself! Just check out Devin Morgan's web site about it: http://faqs.retronintendo.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Table of Contents ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. - Controls 2. - Game Modes 3. - Gameplay Strategies 4. - Rosters 5. - Disclaimer ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. - Controls ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fielding: D-Pad - Move D-Pad+A - Throw to bases. D-Pad+A - Advance to the next base. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. - Game Modes ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The only true game mode in this game is basically playing the game, there's no mini-games if that's what you expect to find in this section. Anyways, the only real way to "beat" the game is to keep playing as one team until you face the Tengen team, beat them, and you basically beat the game. 1P Play This mode is basically just playing the game by yourself against the computer. You can beat the game this way by going through all the games until you face the Tengen team and then beat them. You will also be given passwords to continue your progress. 2P Play This mode is only if you have somebody to play with. You will play against your friend and see who's the better RBI Baseball 3 player. You could also try playing by yourself so you could time your swinging better. Watch This is basically a demo mode to watch the computer play by themselves. The only good thing that can come from this is to study the pitches and learn what will be a ball or a strike. Continue This is 1P Play except you can continue from wherever you left off. Just make sure to keep that password handy! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. - Gameplay Strategies ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you have a lead of ten runs at any given time, you automatically win. Fielding: Learn how to judge where the ball is going, it's hard at first but it's essential in winning games. Don't play a risky game, play safe. By this, I mean don't run after a ball with an infielder when it's just better to get it with an outfielder. I've gotten triples off infield grounders because the computer does it all the time. Always throw to the next base from the outfield to stop the runner from advancing. If you're in the outfield and need to throw it to first and you're in left field, or third and you're in right field, then throw it to second. Then throw it to whatever base you are aiming for. Pitching: Try to pitch on the sides and especially the inside. They won't get as nearly as many hits and if you pitch on the side, they might not swing at all. Batting/Baserunning: Batting is straightforward, just hit the ball. Be careful when baserunning, only advance when you see the ball in the outfield. Don't get caught in pickles because the fielder with the ball will move faster than the runner. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4. - Rosters ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In the lineup screen, you will see one column for pitchers which will say H. That is what hand they use to pitch. For Fielders, H is for hit and P is for position, I=infielder, O=outfielder, and C=catcher. ================================================== American League
