Sqoon Review Written by cracked8ball Intro: Sqoon is another one of those rare, obscure games that not many people know about. Which is a shame because this game is pretty good. Plot: Sqoon is about a submarine sent to rescue people from underground cities and killer fish while fighting some extremely abnormal creatures. The captain of the ship is a actually a bad guy but decides to help stop the invasion to help with his own plans. Game Play: It's a straight forward shoot em up with a twist. In addition to fighting off the creatures, you also must rescue nine people at a time and deliver them to a ship above the water's surface. If you dont do this in time, the sub's fuel will decrease and you'll lose a life. To make shit harder, you have 2 miniature killer whales circling the submarine which will actually eat any people you don't catch. The whales can be destroyed but another one will take the dead one's place. Not to mention you must shoot or avoid a never ending rush of various sea life. You can move the ship in 4 directions and fire bombs and missiles. However, it seems like the bombs and missiles don't always hit their intended target, and the ship can move rather slow and become impossible to maneuver around the enemies. Graphics: The graphics are a bit dull and the sprites are a bit small. The same blue sky, blue water scenery is used, with the occasional underwater city passing by. Sound: The some annoying tune is used throughout the game. Only when the level changes a different piece of opening music is heard. Bottom Line: Sqoon is average and a decent enough game to add to a collection. It's rare to come by, but not worth a massive amount of money. $2- $3 should be a common price so if you see it for that much, pick it up. Notes: Graphics (out of 10): 5 Sound (out of 10): 5 Gameplay (out of 10): 7 Replay Value (out of 10): 7 Overall (not averaged, out of 10): 6
